Lucas is the oldest continuously trading automotive brand in the world. Established in Birmingham, England in 1845, its early products were mainly for ships and bicycles (including the ‘King of the Road’ Penny Farthing lamp, made in 1878) but, being founded just two years after the patenting of the internal combustion engine, we were at the forefront of the earliest developments and new technologies needed for the arrival of the automobile.

Starting with mainly an electrical portfolio, we developed through the years into products for chassis parts including braking, as well as diesel systems and an ever expanding range of electrical components for practically every application that vehicle manufactures of the time would have needed to keep more and more modern vehicles rolling from their production lines.

Today, we offer the aftermarket all of those years of know-how by including all we have learned about long life and durable quality into every part that carries our famous brand in its distinctive green box.
